How to use it
- Type your seven tiles; ? is a blank.
- Add a letter from the board in Contains to play through it without spending a rack tile.
- Words are sorted by Words With Friends points. Change Sort by to Length to find seven-tile plays for the 35-point bonus.
Words With Friends letter values
1 point: A E I O R S T. 2: D L N U. 3: G H Y. 4: B C F M P W. 5: K V. 8: X. 10: J Q Z. The game rewards consonant-heavy words more than Scrabble does, so a word that's mediocre in Scrabble can be your best play here.
Differences from Scrabble
- Board: 15×15 like Scrabble, but bonus squares sit in different places and there are more triple-letter squares.
- Bingo bonus is 35 points, not 50.
- Dictionary: Zynga's own list, close to ENABLE with a few extra modern words. Our list matches it closely; if a word is rejected in the app, it's one of the exceptions.
Questions people ask
Does it work for Words With Friends 2 and Classic?
Yes. Both use the same scoring and word list.
Can it see my board?
No. Type the board letter you want to use in Contains and the finder handles the rest.
Is the word finder free?
Yes. You don't need an account or a download, and you can search as often as you like.
How many letters can I enter?
Up to 15, the longest word that fits on a standard Scrabble board, so you can include board letters you're building through.
Is using a word finder cheating?
In a casual game, that's between you and your opponent. Many players use one after a game to see what they missed, which is one of the quickest ways to get better. Tournament rules don't allow outside help during play.
Why doesn't a word I know show up?
Either it isn't in ENABLE (newer words sometimes aren't), or it needs a letter you didn't enter. If you think a word is missing, tell us and we'll check it.
